Taking things personally

Life gets so much easier when you stop taking things so personally. Taking things personally is emotionally draining. It comes as a constant negative trigger to your self-esteem. Which is neither healthy nor productive to our overall well-being. Often, when we take things personally, we end up giving some people more power over us than they should ever be allowed to have. We are allowing someone to question what we feel and what we believe. We are trusting someone else to tell us who we are, instead of relying on what we know to be true about ourselves, what really defines us as a person without any outside influence. Not taking things personally however, gives you more control over how you respond, over your emotions and your energy level. Not taking things personally brings with it a state of calm, no outside influence can disrupt. Today, set your intentions to consciously stop taking things personally. Other people's reactions to you has nothing to do with you but everything to do with them. You know your truth. Today, stop giving away your power. Don’t fall into the downward spiral of the victim trap. Today, look for the lessons in every situation and love yourself no matter what. When you truly know yourself and love yourself, outside influences will not waiver you from the decisions you want to make, from the life you truly want to lead. Today, stop looking for outside validation and live a life totally on your own terms. Do it today.

Just for today, I choose to feel good about myself no matter what other people say, do or think. I recognize that I am not a victim of my thoughts but a master of my mind. It does not matter what other people say or do. What does matter is how I choose to react and what I choose to believe about myself. I do not fix my problems. I fix my thinking and my problems fix themselves. I am safe and out of this situation only good will come. And so it is.
