Slow down

Have you noticed that time seems to go by faster as you get older? We all know that we should slow down and enjoy life more but we all have excuses why we don't. We may try for a little while, but then we’re off to the races again, filling our lives with more busyness and distractions. We start our day with well-meaning intentions: kindness, compassion, patience, and love. Then stuff happens—we hit traffic, computer goes on the fritz, or have an argument with a friend, loved one or co-worker. By mid-day, we often find ourselves worn down, defensive, and depleted. Today, it is time to begin to slow down and remain in present moment more, which will allow you to conserve your energy and to enjoy the passing of time. It is often only when you finally slow down that you will be able to recognize all the chaos that has been filling up your world and how that chaos is distracting you from living the life you desire. And, when you slow down you will find that Life becomes easier and far more fulfilling. Today, set your intentions to slow down, be patient and use this time to discern what and who you want to remain in your life and what you need to let go of because it/they are clearly no longer serving any purpose in your life. Remember, progress has little to do with speed but much to do about direction and Life isn't a race but a journey!

Just for today, I allow myself to slow down. I will not allow noise, chatter or setbacks to distract me. I will allow purpose, patience, commitment and grace to guide me. I do not fix my problems. I fix my thinking and my problems fix themselves. Life mirrors my every thought. As I keep my thoughts positive, Life brings me only good experiences. I feel safe in the rhythm and flow of my every changing life . Life supports me in every possible way and out of this situation only good will come. And so it is.
