Happy Fall y’all! Today is the first day of Fall, also known as the Fall Equinox, here in this hemisphere. It is a time for us all to bring balance back into our lives and prepare ourselves to finish up the last quarter of this year. It is also a time to take stock and authority over our lives and to move forward. That being said, I have started a new job and I am headed into a glorious new adventure at the newest San Diego licensed, recreational dispensaries, Columbia Care, California. I am more than excited to work with an incredible team and to share my knowledge and love for cannabis with a whole new group of people-clients and patients.

And, although I have a new job, I will continue to my search for new cannabis strains and products and to write about them. And, with all this new stuff, it is comforting to find my old favorite and my friends, Biscotti Brands craft hash products available at my new favorite dispensary, Columbia Care, California.

The craftsmen/women at Biscotti Brands seem to find the most exotic strains, mix in some of their premium, craft hash to create some of the best pre-rolls that I have every consumed. The exotic strain in my Singoli pre-roll this week was Upstream. Upstream is a super rare evenly balanced hybrid (50% indica/50% sativa) strain created by Original Delicatessen, a cultivator based in Spain, which has been researching and developing unique strains for two decades. They created the strain Upstream by crossing the hard to find and high CBD strain, Lily , with Himalaya strains.

Although I didn’t see the whole bud, I can tell you about the aroma and taste of Upstream. Its aroma is earthy with a notes of berry, grape, spice and sweetness. Its flavor is all grape and sweet like candy. It’s effects were completely different than I expected-subtly uplifting. This strain lifted my mood, but calmed me down, similar to the effects of most CBD strains. But, this strain also helped me stay focused and to concentrate on the task at hands. Upstream cannabis strain is perfect for treating body pain, anxiety, hyperactivity, and chronic fatigue. It is a great strain for daytime or evening use. The subtly of this strain will surprise you. But its effects will uplift and soothe your soul for a good long extended period of time, because of the hash which was added to the pre-roll. You will be left relaxed but clear headed. I couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate Fall and my new job!

Sticking with one of my old time favorites skunk, my next strain, Pepe, was a big, bold skunky sativa leaning hybrid. . Pepe is a hybrid strain of which only its only known parent is G13 Skunk. It originates from: Afghanistan, Colombia, and Mexico. You may find many other strains which include Pepe in their name such as Pepe Le Pew, Pepe Le Chem or Pepe Le Dank. Although those other Pepe strains may be a bit different, you can expect them all to be big and skunky.

The strain that I consumed tasted fruity, spicy, earthy, sour with a little bit of pine. It’s aroma was skunky with a bit of fruitiness. Its effects left me feeling euphoric, creative calm, and yet I still had energy to get my stuff done. Everything about this strain was mysterious and if you find it at your local dispensary, your particular bud may look, smell and feel different. I am always looking for things that are new and different. This week I found it in my cannabis, in my career and in the changing of the seasons.
