Get comfortable with being uncomfortable

Contrary to popular belief, not knowing exactly what will happen next in your life is perfectly okay. In fact, it can actually be liberating. However, for most of us uncertainty makes us feel vulnerable and so we try and escape it any way that we can. We convince ourselves that we are fortune tellers and can therefore see the future or better yet we go to people who tell us what our futures will be. We can even make ourselves crazy, spinning our minds, strategizing and stressing in an attempt to make certain that we know or control what comes next. Today, it is time to get comfortable with and embrace the uncertainty and the impermanence of your life. Today it is time to stop fixating on solving problems or looking for the next perfect steps in your life. Today it is time to acknowledge that you can’t embrace a new uncertain future when you are fully attached to your old life or an idea of how you think something should be. Today, recognize that your quality of life can be determined by what you do with that uncertainty. The ability to let go, not know, and not try to totally control what will happen next is a necessary skill for living happy, joyous, and free. Today allow yourself to let go, get comfortable with the unknown and know that everything new awaits on the other side of your fear.
